This article will guide you to setup static IP for play station 4. You need to establish port forwarding in your router by setting up the static IP address in your gaming console. This port forwarding is required in order to allow data from Internet or gaming applications to pass through the firewall of your router. This in return will enable a smooth and uninterrupted seamless connectivity for streaming and gaming.
Before you begin, please make sure to have a note of the following items:
- You will require your router’s local IP address, Subnet Mask and DNS server values. Get them from your router’s settings.
- Ensure your router’s connectivity – router has been set up and you are able to connect to the Internet through wire or wireless connection.
Steps for setting up static IP for play station 4
Press the up button from the home screen of your console. Then under Settings select Network.
This opens the Network screen. From this screen click select ‘Set Up Internet Connection’ then under ‘LAN Cable’ click ‘Easy’.
NOTE: You can directly navigate via Set Up Internet Connection > Use Wi-Fi > Easy.
Now under the IP Address Settings, you need to select Manual option.
Now you need to manually enter the values for your IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS, and Secondary DNS that you figured out from your router’s settings. Select different items one by one and then enter the required values. Once you are done with entering all values, click Done to complete this step.
Now select Next to proceed.
Now on the displayed screen select Automatic under ‘MTU Settings’.
For the option Proxy Server, select Do Not Use.
Now select Test Internet Connection to test your connection. Now when you are connected to your network, you can return to your home screen.
